Main Joomla page is dead … long live Wordpress!
I was just looking at the site traffic on Google, and I noticed something was really strange. In fact I actaully had record usage today. So waht’s the problem you ask? well, there was a 73% bounce rate for those people that visited from the main page. You have to admit, this is really strange. Most of these hits were new visiters too. Your going to have a little bit of a bouce rate, but nothing like this.
So, I opened up my browser and hit the main page, and guess what? Half the links on the page were dead. Not only that, but since the main page is on the Joomla engine, it was all Joomla specific pages that were dead. I tried to get them working, but it’s a no go.
I think I’m going to go back to the site redirect script for the main page with a short fuse. It works better, and puts us right into the main section anyway. It’s strange though because I have never lost a Joomla install before, and I hadn’t made any alterations to the site since last night. At which point it was still working correctly. Oh, well, life on the net.
