Some changes, some updates, and a new server

The move is complete. In the process some of the news that you might have linked before might not be found. When pulling the data from the old server some of my files where corrupt. However, after a weeks worth of work I was finally able to recover some of the tutorials and images that I had previously lost with the migration to WP 2.5

My new account can handle 1.5TB of both data and bandwidth, so there should be no issues for the foreseeable future. The site is much faster, and more responsive overall. As an added bonus we can now have unlimited MySQL databases. I’ll hold off on giving too many hints :)

The engine driving the main site url is now actually a Joomla 1.5 installation. I have themed it so that it matches the Wordpress site pretty accurately for now. This was one hour job, so don’t expect miracles considering I’ve never made a Joomla theme before.

All future articles, themes, templates, etc will be inside the Joomla install. The main news and blog system will remain Wordpress. Mainly because both have their strengths and weaknesses. Wordpress is much better at handling small quick remote posts, and Joomla is much better at handling articles and content. Plus with the new server Joomla is not a pig on resources.

That’s it for now. I’ll be getting back to posting more as soon as I’m happy with the way things are set up. Thanks to everyone for their patience.
